![]() This is where you’ll find a host of features for disabled access too, which we were happy to see. It’s all there to help speed up the design process. We did like the Templates section, where you can find a vast selection of ready made groups of items, like a table and chairs, say, or a ready-made landscape section. This is also the place to go if you’re looking to fill your landscape with a host of various plants.Īll objects are customisable, and you can resize them either via the inspector panel, or manually, directly on the plan, as above. Thankfully, there’s a search field at the bottom of that section you can use to find what you’re looking for more quickly. They’re all broken down by category, and subdivided by type. You have access to hundreds of items form the Content section (represented by a chair icon, top right of the interface). One of the best things of 3D design software is furnishing your creation, and FloorPlan doesn’t disappoint on that front either. ![]() You have access to hundreds of fully customisable objects and plants to furnish your home (Image credit: TurboCAD) Content It’s particularly useful when you decide to move an object around, giving you altered measurements on the fly - the same is true when resizing.Īltering walls, increasing its number of points, extending, contracting, removing them is all very easy to do, and the same applies for any item you add to your project. Not only can you alter an object’s dimensions that way, but you can also do this manually by clicking and dragging it directly on the plan.Įvery time you add something to your design, a series of dimensions appear to help you be as precise as possible. This is where you get to choose the type of window you wish to have, for instance, including its height, width, etc. The inspector on the right displays various customisable parameters of any selected object, whether it’s already been added to your plan, or is a selected tool. Things have changed quite a bit for me since 2000.Not only can you easily alter an object, automatic measurements make it easy to be pinpoint accurate (Image credit: TurboCAD) I know, who gives up a perfectly good job these days? Now TurboCAD will be a key part of my business and my success. I’m CAD Manager for the company I currently work.įor a long time now I’ve wanted to work fulltime growing my own business and on August 1st of this year that is what I’ll be doing. I learned AutoCAD on the job and have since gained a great appreciation of the tool set available in TurboCAD. In 2005 the skills I had gained using TurboCAD earned me a fulltime job drafting plans for a local homebuilder. Before long I upgraded to Version 8 Pro and started learning more about rendering. I hadn’t used CAD software before then, but was immediately hooked. I was machining parts for radio-controlled cars in my garage and was looking for a more accurate method to design them. I purchased my first copy of TurboCAD (Version 7 Standard) in 2000 for hobby use. An awesome gift for the creative in all of us! Don C. ![]() I have tried a number of CAD applications now just to compare and TurboCAD is always, without a doubt, my first choice. It seems to be built with the general public in mind and, as such, is not insanely complex as some of the other more costly CAD applications are. I also find that TurboCAD is relatively easy to learn. I can even modify my models at the same time and see the updated changes as I work. The very best part is that TurboCAD has integrated render capabilities and I can experiment with materials right in my drawing and watch the changes live. This includes mechanical designs for manufacture, furniture design and assembly instructions and even retail outlet store renders (interior and exterior). I can switch from creating trade show booth designs one minute to any of the other things I do most days of the week. That means that I can meet the needs of most of my clients using this single product. I just love how TurboCAD is an all-purpose CAD application.
